Hello MS 88 Community,
We are in the process of our first book order for the year. Do know of any books we are missing that you NEEEEEEED? Are you excited about any new releases? Visit the library and make a suggestion. We will do our best to get something new for everyone!
Media Literacy teaches students to critically interact with all types of media. The average American student spends 7.5 hours in front of screens per day. Being Media Literate means that students learn how to interpret media with a critical eye. With a Media Literacy education, students stop being a passive audience and start to analyze all of the media in their lives. Students take this critical knowledge with them as they begin to construct their own types of media and explore their own truths. Check out this great short video on Media Literacy.
Hello M.S. 88 Community!
If I haven't met you yet, please stop by and say hi! We've got lots of books and lots of time for you to come browse.
If you are looking for books for your students, have them come see me. I can give them suggestions and point them towards electronic resources that also make for some engaging reading!
Ms. Wolfe is the Teacher Librarian at M.S. 88. She also teaches Media Literacy classes to 7th and 8th graders. She loves to read, cook, run and ride bikes!
